2026 KSP Poetry Competition for Young Writers (under 18 years)

The KSP Writers’ Centre is proud to present its annual open-themed poetry competition for young Australian writers, which is free to enter thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Shire of Mundaring.
A longlist of entries will be shared on the KSP social media platforms ahead of the awards ceremony. Final results will be announced at the awards ceremony in December 2026 and published on the KSP website and social media platforms.
Prizes (subject to judge’s discretion):
- First Place: $100 and a certificate
- Second Place: $50 and a certificate
- Up to five Highly Commended and Commended Certificates
- Mundaring National Young Writers’ Encouragement Award (for entrants under 14): $25
Special Invitation
Winning entrants will be invited to read their poem at the KSP End-of-Year Awards Ceremony, held in early December.
